Featured Artist- Risha Chaurasia

Hello fellow readers! For this week's artist feature, we have Risha Chaurasia! She is an amazing writer and novelist who loves to spread messages of peace and hope through her writing. Let us move on to the interview to get to know more about her!

1. What is your name, age, and location?

My name is Risha Chaurasia. I am 13 years old and I live in India.

2. How did you first get into writing?

Since childhood, I had a certain inclination towards art and writing. I used to spend hours curled up with a book under my nose. And I have always wanted to write my own book, something people could remember me by. This at age 11 I started working on a novel which came out last summer. It's called Tales of Twinkling Tweens and revolves around tweenage and it's aspects.

3. Who or what are your biggest inspirations that motivate you?

My biggest inspiration is John Green, his writing transports one to another world. A world where Alaska and Augustus exist. It's just wonderful reading him. I wish to have that power and impact with my work someday.

4. How do you plan on using your writing skills to spread awareness or make a difference in the world?

I believe that the right words in the right places can change the world. A piece of writing or poetry could have a far-reaching impact. With my writing, I want to spread the message of hope and put a smile on one's face. My writing revolves around friendship and love, two of the purest relations one could share. I wish people to read more and literature to be appreciated more.

5. What is your favorite piece of writing that you have created so far?

My favorite piece of writing is the novel I am currently working on. It's called TRUCE and revolves around the lives of 5 misfits that become unlikely friends. The power of friendship brings them out of the dark places they have found themselves in and they learn to love again.

6. What are your current or future goals?

I am currently working on my second novel which would be out by 2021.

7. If you had the opportunity to spend a day with your favorite artist, who would it be and why?

I would love to spend a day with John Green and take a little glimpse into his life. I would love to talk about writing and literature with him and learn the art of YA writing.

8. Do you have any advice or tips for people that are interested in art?

My advice is to WRITE! Pick up a pen and write. Don't worry about the length or quality, write what your heart wants you to. And believe in yourself and your work. You are a wonderful artist and there is no one like you. Don't give up on art and it would not give up on you.

Here are a few examples of Risha's brilliant work:
